Hello! Lorilei here today sharing a warm and colorful mixed media layout using the Vicki Boutin Art Crayons and pieces from Color Kaleidoscope! Here in Alberta, we can already feel that fall is in the air and just around the corner! I had these photos my husband took in Ottawa and thought they would be perfect to use the big Colorful title on!
Here you can see how I started my background. I used packaging with pools of pink and yellow art crayon and flipped it over onto my page and let it drip! I love the seemingly endless combinations of color that the Art Crayons make when they pool and run together! My photo of the stenciling with Art Crayons didn’t turn out; I have learned the lesson to take 2-3 photos of the steps! I added some peach Art Crayon with the stencil brush through a stencil. I also decided to add more pop and got out my cool set of Arty Crayons to add some purple to the mix!
I love all the pools and puddles and colors that happen by magic!
Once my background was dry, I turned to embellishing! I added foam to the back of my photos to pop them off the page; I love the way the shadows look on the mixed media when you add dimension! I added my colorful title first so that it had proper space. I then added the gorgeous big pink flowers; one flower is from the Color Kaleidoscope die-cut pack and I fussy cut the other from the floral paper.
Next, I added butterflies, of course! Butterflies add a touch of whimsy and movement to a layout, and, I usually can’t resist them! I dug out some older Vicki Boutin Thickers and added three spots of gold glitter embellishment to the page, it added to the warm feel of the layout and mixed media and gave it a touch of sparkle!
I love how this combination of Art Crayons turned out! It’s the perfect time of year to get your warm set of Art Crayons out and play! Thank you so much for joining me today!
