Hello! Lorilei here today sharing a layout I made featuring the words stencil from the Vicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey collection! I used the b-sides of the papers from the 6×8 Paper Pad as my color inspiration!
I started with a piece of white cardstock and selected Art Crayons to co-ordinate with the rainbow of papers I had chosen. I used my Vicki Boutin stencil brushes to apply the Art Crayon through the stencil in rainbow strips. I let the colors blend in between to create new colors and blend nicely!
Once I had finished all my stencilling, I began to back my heart cut file. I alternated strips of my custom stencil paper with papers from the 6×8 paper pad. I circled around the heart, starting with the warm colors and ending with the cool colors!
Once I had the cut file complete, I started embellishing! I selected chipboard and die cuts that would match the colors on either side of the photos. The puffy sticker title “you” fit perfectly on the right side of the photo and serves as my title!
At this point, I decided I need more paint! Using the same Art Crayons I used for the stencilling, I added puddles of paint and splatters using packaging around the outside of the heart on white cardstock. To give the heart more interest, I punched 1″ circles from each of the 6×8 papers and adhered them onto the back of the heart to form a scallop. I love how the circle edge turned out!
Creating a custom paper is a great way to play with your Vicki Boutin supplies. You can create all kinds of pretty papers and cut them up to use in your projects!
Thanks so much for joining me today!
