Hello Crate Paper friends! Lorilei here today with my Sunny Days Trip Mini Album! Sunny Days is perfect for so many photos and stories. It was hard to know where to begin as I had so many ideas while looking through the collection! One of the first things that came to mind was a trip we took to Vancouver Island, B.C. the colors in Sunny Days are so bright and fresh, and I absolutely wanted to use the Sunny Days Die Cut Alphas pack in my project. I adore mixed alphas, and this pack is amazing!
The first thing I needed to decide was a format and a size. I dug around in my mini album basket and found this 6×6 album with an acetate cover; I decided that would be fun to try!
I gathered up items for the cover/title page. The acetate sits over the first page which I made on a sheet of vellum, this way the embellishments won’t get the wear and tear of handling over the years. I made a pretty cluster for the bird and camera to sit on and centered that cluster. The page beneath the vellum was made from white cardstock, and I cut out the title on my silhouette. I backed the paper by cutting the stripes from the Explorer Paper. Those colors!!!
On the back of the title page I printed my journaling onto white cardstock and adhered it to the back, this covered up the strips for the letters. I stitched strips of paper branding strips to the edge and added clear stickers to decorate the page. Next, I cut the Coral paper to 6×6 and used one of the photos from the Blissful paper to decorate. I added my photo and two clear stickers to decorate. I also used the super cute dotted line tape runner just under the photo.
For my first divider page, I used the 1 from the die cut alphas and made a cute little tile using the paint and stencils that come in the Sunny Days collection. The paint is creamy and rich and went beautifully onto the stencil with a makeup sponge as an applicator. The Peachy paper seemed like the perfect background!
My next set of pages uses the back of the Peachy paper and the Blissful butterfly paper. I used another of the cut apart photos and then fussy cut butterflies to sit on top of the page over the existing butterflies! It is a unique and fun addition to the mini! Love these butterflies!
Next up you’ll see my Day 2 divider. Deciding to use the numbers helped me sort and organize all the photos. The photos are approx. 2×2 by the way. On the Day 2 I added the Explore glossy puffy sticker on top of the map paper. Day 3 is my favorite divider. There is just something about the big 3 in the gorgeous green that gets me! I used the cute green car on the adjoining page to tie the pages together.
On the back of the 3 divider, I made a big pocket to hold a tag and photos. I used the collect moment’s card from the Happy Place cut apart paper. I love all the patterns in the letters! On the page next to it I tucked in another fussy cut butterfly with a little emerald jewel on her.
A few more pages in the album and the Day 4 divider!
I think the Apple Blossom paper is my favorite. It is classic Maggie Holmes with those gorgeous florals!! I kept this page simple with a black and white card. Next is the Day 5 divider, I love how it pops off the polka dot paper! Day 6 – I added the number to a banner and I found a ticket with a 6 on it, so that was perfect to cluster together! On the next striped page, I added a die cut piece and couldn’t resist adding one of the cute planes included in the collection. I snuck in a little cut-down page protector with a few more photos as well! On the back cover, I used sweet from the puffy stickers and clipped a die cut at the top with one of the gold clips from the collection. I love the way it sticks out at the top when the album is closed!
I hope you have enjoyed looking through my trip mini album. Sunny Days was so easy to use and made my album bright and cheery!
So fabulous
Thanks so much, Kim!!
