Snowflake Mittens Banner – Crate Paper

Hello Crate Paper friends! I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I have a cute winter project using Snowflake today! I hung my mittens on a banner but they would be super sweet on a layout or used as a card. I made mine doubled sided so that I could slip goodies inside the mittens if I want to give one away!

I started out with a mitten template I found on Pinterest. I cut a front from Snowflake pattern paper and a back from heavy white cardstock. I cut a co-ordinating “cuff” from pattern paper as well.

My first mitten is decorated for winter outdoor adventures! I used the Snowcapped paper for the mitten and stitched all around the mitten with light pink embroidery floss and a chain stitch. I added the Spruce paper for the cuff on the mitten and tucked in a piece of hand cut scalloped white paper. I used the cute skiing die cut tag and some chipboard for the main decoration. I finished off the mitten with the Chill Thickers for shiny accents!

My middle mitten uses the Knitted paper for the mitten with white back stitching around the edge. I used the Village paper for the cuff. I used the gorgeous floral die cut and snowman globe for the main feature of this mitten. I decided to add the coppery thicker word to all the mitten and used Brrr for this one along with some copper sprigs!

My final mitten started out with the Winterscape paper, I used Icicles for the cuff. I decided to use dark green embroidery floss and did a blanket stitch around the edge. I used one of the layered ephemera pieces with the cute little snow globe house. I added another floral die cut and titled this mitten Peace with the Chill Thickers.

The mittens measure about 7” high by 5” wide. You could certainly make them smaller to fit the front of a standard card or for a smaller banner. I love how fun they were to decorate and how cute they are for winter decoration!
