I was super excited to receive the new Adore Alpha Stamp Set and co-ordintating Dies from Pinkfresh Studio! I do love a big bold alpha stamp set! I decided to get out my Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors and just have fun with it all!
I decided to make a little journal with big words as inspiration for the journal pages. I had Hannah in mind while making it, but I kinda like it and might just keep it for myself! I used three pieces of letter size cardstock and applied a heavy coat of gesso to each side of the paper and also added some heavy gesso and drywall tape for texture on some of the sheets. Once the sheets were dry I folded the sheets in half for a journal. I decided to leave it unbound while I painted it, but I kept it loosely together so the paint would go across the pages.
I painted a different combination of colors on each set of pages, I did lots of puddling and some splattering and really just let the paint go where it wanted.
Once I had settled on the five words I wanted to use, I stamped them out with the Adore set. They made beautiful crisp impressions! I also decided to add word defintions that I made in photoshop for each word to add some interest.
I cut some of the words up to stretch across two pages, they feel like big scrabble tiles, I think cutting them up added to the artsy feel I was going for. I think the Brave page is my favorite, I love the teal and pink together!
I added vintage book paper and stitching to the word definitions for some texture and color. I also inked the edges of my words and definitions with black ink so they would stand out nicely from the painted backgrounds.
For finishing touches I added some puffy hearts from The Mix 02 and butterflies from the Bloom and Grow stamp set.
I love how it turned out and I certainly had fun playing around with the stamps and paints!! The look of the page would also make a great scrapbook layout!
Adding a few close-ups below of the gorgeous paint puddles!
