This is my last layout using the March 2017 Hip Kit! I added the Oh My Heart Paper #06 to the leftover die cuts and bit of paper I had left from the kit. Fussy cutting the flowers from paper #06 was easy breezy! Paige Evans must surely have had fussy cutting in mind when she designed it!
Pretty Girls Layout
It is such a sunny happy Sunday today that I felt like I needed to go flower crazy on a layout! I printed out a heart from the digital version of Oh My Heart by Paige Taylor Evans for Pink Paislee, and then begged my daughter to stitch around the edge! I colored some old, old white paper flowers I bought from I am Roses years ago with Shimmerz Vibez in Heidi Ho Blue, Pop Art Pink and Rolling in the Hay.
To put it all together I used many of the flower die cuts from Oh My Heart and I used the Sunshine Thickers for the title that wraps around the heart! Such a fun layout to make!
The Simple Things Layout
The HKC FB Group had a moodboard challenge this week and this layout is the result of the challenge. It was super fun to make and I got out toothpicks and a skewer to make the hanging feather and leaf cluster! I used the exclusive die cuts from the May 2017 Hip Kit.
A close up!
Here is how my background looks before sticking all the bits down. I used Shimmerz sprays and a Lindy’s Moonglow spray. I have had this gypsy cord from Prima for awhile and it was the perfect colors for the layout!
Hey Sugar Layout
I tried something different with this layout and cut a bunch of the 2×2 squares from the Oh My Heart paper in half and stitched them all around the edge of the paper. Love how it frames the photo and embellishments in the center! All the pretty bits are from the March 2017 Hip Kit and I added some rose gold stickers from the Oh My Heart by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee sticker book!
The photo is one of my all time fav’s, I think it is the smile that gets me!
Feel Beautiful Today Layout
I am getting down to the ends of my March 2017 HKC kit and really wanted to use the cute little socks in the die cut pack. I thought it would be cute to do a clothesline and I cut out some “clothes” from the papers in the scrapbook kit. I used gold paper for the little clothespins! I am happy with the way the layout turned out!
Take the Girl Outta the 80’s Layout
A layout with my take on the current challenge on the Hip Kit FB Group. I didn’t have any plans on what I was going to make to start with, one of the requirements was to have a picture of yourself and most of my latest photos seem to be selfies with my daughter. I ran across these photos from Halloween and loved the colors so I used it for my inspiration. The 80’s theme came rather quickly! I used the alpha and embellishments from the April 2017 HKC Embellishment Add On. I made the glasses and 80’s piece in photoshop and printed them out and did some fussy cutting. Super fun and colorful!
Mom Life Scrapbook Layout
Such a fun and happy layout! I am not usually drawn to the color orange but I absolutely love how this layout turned out. I think what made it work for me was the addition of pink to the layout. I used mostly the Oh My Heart die cuts and a few of the Crate Paper Chasing Dreams paper.
Loads of pop dots and foam for 3D texture!
Let’s Stay Home Scrapbook Layout
In May I made the plunge to join the Hip Kit Club. In the past years I have purchased kits from a few kit clubs to try them out and see what I liked. Hip Kit turned out to be my favorite! I ordered the March 2017 main kit and the April 2017 embellishment kit. My first layout with the March kit features a lot of the Oh My Heart Collection by Paige Taylor Evans for Pink Paislee and I made it for the weekly challenge on the Hip Kit Club Facebook Page.
I started out with a background with watercolors and splatters and then got to work layering! I love how it turned out!
You, Me and Happy
I have always loved this photo of my Dad and my daughter, even though it is very dark and not the best quality. For me scrapbooking is definitely about the memory or the feeling the photos represent! I layered elements and added paint and gesso for a fun artsy feel!
This layout is a remake of the original that appeared in Canadian Scrapbooker. I changed the size from 12×12 down to 8.5×11 to fit in my new album. I find the 8.5×11 so much easier to scrap with and the album is not so huge!
Good Morning Sunshine
Recently I have been more focused on the storytelling part of my scrap booking/memory keeping. In digital it is so easy to journal and the options seem endless for style and of course fonts. One of the big drawbacks I have found with paper scrapping is that you really do need to have a good idea of how the page will flow and look before you print out the words. In order to get a bit of a rhythm going I have done some scrap lifting of layouts I see on Pinterest so that I can get the printed type part down, without making an epic mess and changing my mind after I print!
For this layout I was inspired by a layout on Pinterest and for the life of me I cannot track it down again for proper credit. When I find it I will be sure to edit the information here. Anyway I thought the design and simplicity of the layout was super cute so I took my jumping off point from it. The two shipping tags I made in Photoshop that closely resemble the ones on the scrap lift layout. I printed out the tags and cut them as well as printing my type on the scrapbook paper and on the little blue label. I also decided to add the stamped star and good morning sunshine to my photo in Photoshop before printing it out. Once the printing and cutting were done the fun part started with layers and paper bits and paint!
I love how it turned out and it was well worth all the fussing around to make the page!
