Hello! Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! I hope your celebration is a great one! It’s Lorilei here today sharing a project using multiple techniques from Vicki’s Artful Technique Challenge. I used: #10 – Circles / #27 – Brush Strokes / #18 – Positive / #8 – Least fav color.
I had fun just playing with a 12×12 sheet of Foundation Paper, Watercolor Markers, Acrylic Paint. Gesso, Art Crayons, Gold Texture Paste and Stencils – All Vicki Boutin products. I turned my paper into 12 bookmarks that I will share at our local library for anyone who wants one to take! If you need a small thank you gift, a stocking stuffer, a random giveaway, these bookmarks are great for that and fun to make!
I dripped, puddled, stencilled and scraped all the above-listed mediums onto my Foundation card stock. I let it dry in between a few of the techniques so the colours would stay crisp and not mix too much.
I mixed more Art Crayon and Watercolor Markers to dye my white seam binding into matching ribbon.
I cut my 12×12 into two 6×12 pieces and then cut each of those into 2” wide strips. Next I used some VB stamps from my stash to further embellish the individual bookmarks.
Next I added a layer of Vicki Boutin Gel Medium to seal in all the products. I added eyelets to each bookmark to make sure they would last longer and added ribbons and twine to each bookmark.
It is fun to see how each one is unique and random from the paper cuts. I will always be an old school book reader as is my daughter and we are always scrounging for a new bookmark!
These will be lovely to put out at our local library for people to use. The library is a big part of our life and it is fun to find a simple and small way to give back! I hope you take time to have a play day with your Vicki Boutin products, as Vicki says “It’s just a sheet of paper!”
