December just sort of rolled right in for me, with hardly any warning (haha) I didn’t have a concrete plan for DD, I knew I wanted to use my Felicity Jane December Holly kit and my Crate Paper Merry Days, but I wasn’t sure how and where! I gathered everything together and added some Crate Paper Fa La La to the mix and sat down with my first couple days worth of photos and stories and just started fiddling around!
Last year I used a large photo for the first page of my album but I decided to make a title page using scrappy goodies instead. I cut the Merry title from a Merry Days paper and used the December title from the Holly kit. The snowflakes are a FJ cut file as is the little gingerbread man. I sprinkled in some pink sequins that I got a few years ago from Felicity Jane. Love how it turned out, it’s cheery and festive!
Day 1 starts with a large photo, I had this red bucket sitting downstairs that escaped the Christmas pack up, so I put it into action on my sideboard.
I used a Holly journal card on the right side with a photo from a dance performance with a tag from Fa la la and Merry Days. The last photo was my view of the day, my cold wasn’t quite gone and I laid on the couch most of the day!
Day 2 – Hannah got all her Lego out, it was stored in the same out building as Christmas so she asked her Dad to bring it in. Never too old to play with Lego! I stamped the card with my Waffle Flower alpha stamp and the number is from the Holly kit.
I made a large tag from white cardstock for my insert. Mr. Grumpy cat got featured there! I added the text in photoshop before printing the photo. The banner is from Merry Days as is the gold snowflake. I added some tea dyed muslin to the top and a white button.
The right side has stories of the day and a photo of all the snow we got! The card with the magic tab is 6×4 and tucks in behind the photo and is full of journaling. I used my Sizzix snowflake dies for the snowflakes and a chipboard from Fa la la.
I am excited to be doing my album, I really enjoy it so much during December.
