Hello Crate Paper friends! Lorilei here today sharing a layout all about vacation memories! I used the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection for my page! I love that Sunny Days is so versatile with plenty of icons and embellishments to choose from!
I started my layout with a piece of white cardstock. As I was looking through the Sunny Days 6×8 paper pad, I wanted to use so many of the patterns; I thought a cut file title would be great to show off lots of papers! I put together a title in photoshop and cut it out of white cardstock on my Silhouette. I backed each letter with a different paper, focusing on pinks, blues, teals, and yellow.
Once I had the cut file title done, I decided to go with a colorful painted background. I added paint puddles with the packaging technique and matched the colors with the papers in the title. While the paint puddles were still wet, I blew through a straw to make drips with the paint. The painted area of the background is wider than my title, so the colors don’t quite match up with the title papers, but they are still in the same order, so that worked for me!
Once my background was good and dry, I added foam adhesive (2 layers) to the back of my title and adhered it in place. I picked a spot for my photo and added that next. I fussy cut a large and small pink flower from the Splendor paper to tuck under my photo and my title. I found the sunshine sentiment card on the Happy Place cut apart sheet, and it fits perfectly beside my photo and above the yellow papers in the title.
I couldn’t quite find anything to fit into the teal area beside the photo, and then I spied the puffy sticker sentiments “Let’s Go” and “summer” I loved how the pops of black tied everything together and added to the title! For my finishing touches, I added sea shells in coordinating colors and a few of the clear stickers from the Sunny Days Sticker Book.
At the very end, as I was tidying up, I spotted the teal bird on the sticker sheet and popped her on! I love how my layout turned out! Sunny Days is so fabulous for vacation memories! Happy crafting!
