Hey Girl

Since it has been super cold here lately, I thought I would make a bright and cheery layout!  Paige’s new branch cut file makes the perfect little nest for a photo!  I used Turn the Page by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee and pulled out the pretty pinks and yellows with a dash of mint for a happy page!  I chose not to back each leaf opening of the branch, just a select few, to me it keeps it open and airy but still provides a bit of color!  I busted out my Paige Evans Sticker book and sprinkled some little flowers around the layout for a finishing touch!
I cut the magical arrow into a thin hanging tag and used the arrow head tucked into the hey girl card!
Love the washi tape strips in Turn the Page!

Believe

What do you do when a cut file has so many adorable little bits left over?  Paint them!!  After I cut the Half Christmas Tree (Design ID #230008) cut file I ended up with all the adorable cutouts and I couldn’t throw them away!  I got out my water-colour set and painted each little icon and after they were dry I added some details with a sharpie fine tip marker.  I used the cut out tree as a mask shape and painted the paper with green water-colour paint and also added splatters over the rest of the page.  I then glued the icons back into their cut spot, again using the cut out tree for placement.  Turn the Page by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee is SO perfect for Christmas pages so I added a chipboard star, bird tag and cut out the banner from the cut apart paper.  So fun and festive!!

I added buttons, sequins and puffy stickers to decorate the tree!

Love the yellow chipboard star from Turn the Page by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee!

Pop Up Mini Album

What a fun mini album cut file!  You can find the cut file by Paige Taylor Evans at her Etsy shop Paige has also made a video with instructions on how to fold and then put together the pages.  You can find the video on Paige’s You Tube Channel.  Below you will find some inspiration for what I did with this cute album using Turn the Page by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee!
I decided to use double sided paper from Turn the Page for the base of the album.  It gave me the choice to mix and match the pages, as you can have the folds flip either way before adhering them.  The score lines make for easy assembly!  I printed out a photo for each side of the pages and then fiddled around with the fold up triangle for a bit, the options seemed endless!  I decide to go with a configuration of embellishing the pop up to be viewed straight on with the photos, you could also decorate the pop up under each photo at an angle!
I used ALL the bits and pieces from Turn the Page.  Die cuts, stickers, journal pieces, alphabets and chipboard stickers to bring the mini to life!
One tip I have is that if you want to have the mini sitting out in a carousel look, is to use odd number of pages for the album!

Winter Walk Mini

I am sharing a cute little mini album featuring cut files by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette! You can find a list of the cut files I used at the bottom of the post!

I decided to make an accordion fold album that holds tags.  I started out by cutting two white 12×12 card stock sheets down to 9 x 12 and then scored the sheets into thirds and along the bottom to fold up for a pocket and then attached the two pieces together to make a bigger album.  I made 4 tags from white card stock and  made two tags from photos!  I decided to cut all the files from kraft cardstock since the base of my album was white.  I love how the kraft looks with the solid colors from the Turn the Page collection!  I backed a cut file for each of the pages and added photos.  I decided to use wood veneer as an accent for a natural, outdoorsy feel!  I highly recommend putting your Silhouette to work on these gorgeous cut files and making yourself a mini full of memories!!

The geometric reindeer is a favorite!!  I got out my Prismacolor Pencils to color in the title to match Turn the Page!

The Pie Chart Heart was fussy to back but I think it is my favorite!!

Love the Folk Art Christmas Trees!  I used the off cut from the center of the tree as leaves on the Flower Bunch!

Mama Bear

I was excited to see the Geometric Bear (Design ID #230010) in Paige’s shop!  I love bears (from a distance) and I also cut some ed Leaves (Design ID #227130) and Labels Set of 3 (Design ID #216960) for my page!  My original plan was to cover up all the journaling but my daughter said she would like to be able to read it in years to come so I decided to make a pocket that looks like a file folder to tuck in the journaling tags and photo.
I used Oh My Heart Paper 07 for a nice contrast in the background and the rest of the page is made with Turn the Page!  I had typed all my journaling and done paint puddles and splattering for a background so instead I turned them into tags!
The Turn the Page alpha is so perfect with the Geometric Bear!  I love it!

The Lake

There is a new alpha in town!  Back this Font (Design ID #228014) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette!  I LOVE this font!  It has the perfect size outline and the style is awesome!  I went with a big bold title to make it the main design feature of my layout. I backed the cut letters with papers from Fancy Free by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee.  I then added chipboard, wood veneer and die cuts from Take Me Away and Turn the Page, also by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee!  A few black splatters finished off the layout with one of my all time favorite photos!

So fun to tuck in bits and pieces into the title!

Still the One

This past June, my husband and I celebrated 25 years of marriage!  Holey man time flies!!  I didn’t have a “special” photo but I did remember to snap a selfie that day, so any picture is better than no picture!
I cut the gorgeous Flower 12 Petals (Design ID #216690) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette cut file from Paper 2 from Turn the Page.  I backed every other petal with Paper 18 and Paper 1.  I added some paints to Paper 7 and used it as a background. All the embellishments are from Turn the Page, except for the “25” alpha which is from Fancy Free! After I adhered the flower I cut a portion off to be flush with the background page, my daughter had the bright idea to add it to the opposite side of the page, which I love!!
Scrumptious details!

Awesome Beauty

Autumn is my favorite time of year!  Some years the leaves last longer in their fall colors than other years.  It depends on the big chinook winds we get!  The time of year inspired me to use the pretty Leaves Background cut file (Design ID #217959) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette.

I backed each leaf with 6×6 and 12×12 papers from Turn the Page and Take Me Away, both by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee.  I made a large tag from Turn the Page paper and added a punched circle for the hole reinforcer and then hole punched it!  I used chipboard, alphas and the title from Take Me Away to embellish!  I even used a pattern background which is unusual from my normal white background!  I love how the layout turned out!

Turn the Page is perfect for fall!

A Note

My Silhouette Cameo was humming yesterday!  For this layout I used the super cool Cut and Fold Hearts (Design ID #223761) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette.  I actually cut the file twice,  the first time with plain white card stock and the second time I used the rainbow striped Paper 22 from Turn the Page.  I folded the hearts on each of the papers and then I “slipped” the rainbow paper hearts into the cut side of the white paper and folded the rainbow hearts back.   I stitched a line through each row of hearts and fluffed up the edges.  I trimmed around the heart paper and mounted it on a pretty pink Paper 10 from Turn the Page.  I went to town with Turn the Page embellishments and used a title from the Take Me Away Collection.  Along the edge of the page I tucked in my journaling and a few more embellishments!

The tucked away journaling is about how lately I have been thanking myself for some of the decisions my past self has made.  One example is that every time I use the automatic needle threader on my sewing machine I am SO glad that I splurged on that feature over 16 years ago.  I cannot see close up that well anymore without reading glasses so the automatic threader is the best!!

I love the dimension from the folded hearts!

Adventure

This week my project for Hip Kit Club was to make a layout based on the weekly sketch challenge in the HKC Members Forum on Facebook!  This weeks sketch was made by the lovely Beata Valint!  I kept very close to the sketch and used so many gorgeous goodies from the September 2017 Hip Kits!  I hand cut the hearts to scatter along the sides of the two “photo” areas and as an extra bonus I found out I can fit a 12×12 paper into the typewriter my neighbor gave me, so I added my journaling in the middle of the page and used the exclusive gold alpha for my title!

It is free to join the HKC Member Forum even if you are not a subscriber and the weekly sketches are such fun!  Be sure to check it out!
