The Lake

There is a new alpha in town!  Back this Font (Design ID #228014) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette!  I LOVE this font!  It has the perfect size outline and the style is awesome!  I went with a big bold title to make it the main design feature of my layout. I backed the cut letters with papers from Fancy Free by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee.  I then added chipboard, wood veneer and die cuts from Take Me Away and Turn the Page, also by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee!  A few black splatters finished off the layout with one of my all time favorite photos!

So fun to tuck in bits and pieces into the title!

Awesome Beauty

Autumn is my favorite time of year!  Some years the leaves last longer in their fall colors than other years.  It depends on the big chinook winds we get!  The time of year inspired me to use the pretty Leaves Background cut file (Design ID #217959) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette.

I backed each leaf with 6×6 and 12×12 papers from Turn the Page and Take Me Away, both by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee.  I made a large tag from Turn the Page paper and added a punched circle for the hole reinforcer and then hole punched it!  I used chipboard, alphas and the title from Take Me Away to embellish!  I even used a pattern background which is unusual from my normal white background!  I love how the layout turned out!

Turn the Page is perfect for fall!

A Note

My Silhouette Cameo was humming yesterday!  For this layout I used the super cool Cut and Fold Hearts (Design ID #223761) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette.  I actually cut the file twice,  the first time with plain white card stock and the second time I used the rainbow striped Paper 22 from Turn the Page.  I folded the hearts on each of the papers and then I “slipped” the rainbow paper hearts into the cut side of the white paper and folded the rainbow hearts back.   I stitched a line through each row of hearts and fluffed up the edges.  I trimmed around the heart paper and mounted it on a pretty pink Paper 10 from Turn the Page.  I went to town with Turn the Page embellishments and used a title from the Take Me Away Collection.  Along the edge of the page I tucked in my journaling and a few more embellishments!

The tucked away journaling is about how lately I have been thanking myself for some of the decisions my past self has made.  One example is that every time I use the automatic needle threader on my sewing machine I am SO glad that I splurged on that feature over 16 years ago.  I cannot see close up that well anymore without reading glasses so the automatic threader is the best!!

I love the dimension from the folded hearts!

Goblins

Today for the 4th day of Halloween Week I have a super cute layout!  I love the Haunting Night Design ID #221106 cut file! I knew right away the painted stripe paper from Take Me Away by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee would look great behind the words.  I then picked out more bits from Take Me Away and added buttons to the o’s and a’s!

I didn’t have the greatest photos from this Halloween so it was the perfect time to use small photos!  This was the first year Hannah chose to be something “scary”. Halloween has always spooked her, so princess was generally the costume of choice!

Close up!!

Happy Colors

This morning I was in the mood to bust out the paints!  I had cut the Pie Chart Heart (Design ID #219822) from Paige Taylor Evans & Silhouette earlier in the week and wanted to use it as well!  I drew out some of my favorite paint brushes and used my watercolor palette to color them in.  I traced around a jar I had and then cut a slit beneath the top band of the jar and slid the brushes in, I added a piece of vellum on top and stitched around it with my sewing machine so it would look the brushes were “behind” glass.

For the background I penciled in the cut spaces where I wanted the pie chart heart to be and painted the spaces before glueing down the cut file.  I then added stitching all around the heart.  Last step was to assemble all the pieces and add the Heart Word Happy (Design ID #216681) for a title with the colors chipboard from Take Me Away ( I added a little bit of paint to the chipboard as well).  I sprinkled on some yellow star sequins and used some pretty star die cuts from Turn the Page for the finishing touch!!  Love how it turned out and it made me happy to make it!

Sunshine

My Grandma always use to sing the “You Are My Sunshine” song to me!  I love that the little paper clip banner from Turn the Page by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee has that sentiment on it!  There is also the word Sunshine in the Take Me Away Thickers, so my page was set!  I spritzed through a sunbeam stencil with Shimmerz Carribean Sunset and Sunset Strip sprays.  I then added messy stitching through each of the painted rays and sprinkled more paint dots.  To make the sunshine thicker title pop I painted it with gold paint and added some gold glitter.  Fussy cut butterflies from Turn the Page were the perfect embellishment!  I used one of my favorite photos of Hannah and I when she was a baby!

Painted title.

Pretty butterflies!

Fabulous

Butterflies!!  One of my favorite things to do on a layout is to use butterflies.  When I saw this Cut & Fold Butterflies cut file from Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette I was hooked! I cut the file from white smooth cardstock. I used the 2×2 squares from the Take Me Away by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee 12×12 Paper Pad. I slipped the squares under the white paper and then carefully lifted the paper to add some glue under the non cut side of the butterfly to hold the under paper on. To decorate I used 3 butterfly punches I happened to have and punched from white cardstock and gold foil paper for a little glimmer! I layered my photo with Take Me Away Ephemera and used the gorgeous gold title from Take Me Away up in the top corner! I love that the butterflies have a little secret color beneath their wings! I imagine a burst of colors if they all took flight right off the page!

Fantastic

I thought I would punch some circles from the 6×6 Turn the Page Paper pads and then see what happens!  I fiddled around with the circles cut in half for quite awhile and then settled on a similar design as my Love You Lots layout.  I don’t mind repeating a design that I love, it turns out differently anyway!  This time I filled in half circles all the way to the center and then stacked my photo and embellishments on top!  I used the gorgeous yellow fantastic title and carpe diem chipboard arrow from Take Me Away by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee.  The rest of the pretty flowers and banner clip are from Turn the Page.  I adore how it turned out.  So colorful and fun!

Brave Wings

Recently we colored my daughter’s hair with temporary bright color!  She had been wanting to do it for a long time and the only thing in the way was me!  Of course if it was going to happen then there needed to be loads of pictures, this photo was my favorite and the Take Me Away collection by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee was such a perfect match to show it off!  The brave wings pocket card said it all for me and that was my jumping off point for the layout.  I punched butterflies from the 12×12 papers and spread them out in an ombre effect from the bottom.  A few gold accents and Take Me Away paper clip finished it off!

Happy 3rd Birthday Layout

This layout came about from the Hip Kit Club Moodboard Challenge on the FB Forum.  I was inspired by the balloon picture on the moodboard and the colors from Oh My Heart by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee are perfect!!  At the party we had a strawberry shortcake birthday banner hanging on the wall and I thought it would be cute to add to the layout.  I made the banner in photoshop and then traced it in silhouette to cut out!  The photo is one of my favorites, not a typical birthday fun photo, she was waiting for cake and tired out by this point.  I just love it!  The today is awesome, xo gold heart and mint bow chipboard are from the Take Me Away Collection and I added a few flowers from my stash!

Hannah “willingly” gave me the 3 from her My Mind’s Eye On Trend Ephemera pak.

I colorized the photo in photoshop beofre printing, the background was super busy and I wanted just the birthday girl to be the focal point!
