Each month Pinkfresh Studio hosts a challenge! For the month of June the challenge is all about “Bows” which I love! The challenge is combined with a color story and there are prizes for both scrapbooking and cardmaking! Be sure to check out the June Pinkfresh Studio Challenge and play along!
My challenge page started out with bows of course! I used the Caper, Whim and Quirk papers from the Let Your Heart Decide collection and cut bows on my silhouette. I added paint swashes and a ruffled crepe paper strip to my background and then adhered my bow.
Since the bows were the star of the page I kept it pretty simple with the embellishments. I added two flowers from the Let Your Heart Decide Ephemera pakand a tag and tab from The Mix #02 as well as a Tassel Bow from The Mix #02.
Playing along with challenges are a great way to start a layout! Share you layout by June 29th on the Pinkfresh Studio blog and if you share on Instagram please add the hashtags #pinkfreshstudio & #pinkfreshchallenge.
Today I am sharing a layout featuring Vacation Memories with the Wild Heart Collection! I must admit up front that I have never been anywhere tropical but that doesn’t stop me from loving the tropical vibe of Wild Heart! For this layout my journaling and memory is focused on what paradise means to me! I started out with the striped background and cut papers in strips to look like trees! I stitched the strips onto the paper with messy stitches and then added a cut file from white card stock on top.
Last year we spent 10 days on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The Island to me is paradise. The old growth rainforest was breathtaking and boasted Lucious huge green leaves!! I knew the minute I saw Wild Heart is would be perfect for those memories. I typed up my journaling and folded it up, I tucked it on top of of one of the ephemera cards and attached it to the layout with a leaf epoxy clip!
The chipboard paradise letters are my favourite!! I love that they are pink with a spotty animal print! I stitched them onto my layout for more subtle texture. I snipped the #happy from the cut apart card sheet into a little banner.
I knew I wanted to find a great spot for the pretty lush leaves! The leaves come in many forms in the collection, so I had a hard time picking between the paper ephemera ones, vellum and leaves on the sticker sheet. I ended up choosing the variegated green paper leaf since I had used so many of the green papers and I had more greens in my photos! The vellum leaf was the perfect companion! For one last detail I topped off the photo area with the gold foil butterfly print on the green card. It is just so pretty and draws the eye to the photo since I have a very busy background!
Wild Heart is a great collection for vacation memories, you can join me and scrap about your idea of paradise!

Today I am sharing some pretty interactive cards I made using the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection by Crate Paper! I remembered that I had downloaded a tea bag shape from the silhouette store some time ago and thought that would be a fun jumping off point for an interactive card! As I was looking through the Flourish collection I spotted three little tea stickers!! That sealed the deal for me and made it so easy to pick papers and items to go on each card.
I started first with the Chamomile Tea sticker the white wild roses on the Greenhouse paper went beautifully with the chamomile flowers so I cut the tea card from that paper. I decorated the front with white and green ephemera and stickers and made sure to include a little bit of yellow! I chose a Love You sentiment from the sticker sheet.
These little teapots are so sweet! I would love to have a collection of them! I tucked in one of the gold foil leaves for a little eye-catching sparkle behind the chamomile tea jar!
Next up is the English Rose Tea card. I think this one is my favourite! I chose the Emma paper for it’s delicate little blooms and cut the tea card on my silhouette. I added the illustrated black and white ephemera as the base so that the tea jar would show up nicely! The antique fair ticket is cut from the Always paper, I antiqued the edges with a bit of ink.
The “heart you” sentiment seemed to be perfect for the Rose Tea card! You can see that I added a bit of machine stitching on the cards for subtle detail.
Oh those lazy days drinking Summertime Tea! In my dreams!! I love how fresh and pretty this card turned out. I trimmed the black and white card into a tag shape to fit the tea card and decorated it with a pretty yellow floral sticker, another ticket from the Always paper and a fussy cut heart from the Poppy paper I cut the card from.
The detail on these tiny tea canister stickers is so lovely! You can see the stitching under the tea jar (which I popped up on foam dots) and the inked ticket to make it look even more vintage.
These cards were really easy to make, with just a few folds and pretty decorations. To further customize them I cut the matching tea label on the end of the strings out of the same papers and decorated each one with a tiny vintage ticket. You can fill the cards with individually packaged tea bags or add loose tea, they would smell divine!!
I hope you enjoyed these cards! You could easily make the same little tea canister clusters on the front of a traditional card as well!

I found the super cool String Art Heart Design ID #258560 in Paige’s Silhouette store. I cut the heart from 12×12 white cardstock and used it as a template to punch holes in a heavier weight cardstock below it. After I had the holes made I used 4 different colors of embroidery floss to make the string art design! I quickly gave up trying to follow all the lines in the cut file and just made my own crissing and crossing the heart. It was super helpful to use the cut file to place the holes!
It took me about an hour to string the whole heart. Once I was done I added some paint splatters to the two areas I knew I would embellish. While the paint was drying I put together my photo cluster. I ended up adding foam to a few of the layers for lot’s of dimension. Before I adhered my photo cluster I added a few rubons to peek out beneath it.
I added a cute little cluster at the top left of the heart for balance and interest! I love the teeny little rubons included with Pick Me Up by Paige Taylor Evans and Pink Paislee in that spot too!
I have wanted to paint a dance canvas for my daughter for some time. When I saw Paige’s Ballet Slippers (Design ID #264065) cut file I knew it would work perfectly!
I started out by cutting the outline of the shoes in white cardstock and then painting the entire cut file dark pink. I used the pink watercolor paint from Vicki Boutin’s watercolor set. Once the outline was dry, I applied it to the canvas with gel medium and let that dry. I then painted in the shoe, leaving white space for highlights. Using various pinks and peachy pinks I added splatters in 3 areas of the canvas. I finished off with a few Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine splatters for good measure!
I had some flowers left over from her last year’s ballet solo costume as well as some white paper flowers. I added some white paint, and pink watercolor to them for a mixed media feel. I used hot glue to arrange them at the top of the canvas. I added watercolor to some thin white ribbon and tucked that into the flower cluster for a bit of extra dimension and prettiness!
We both love how it turned out! There are so many of Paige’s gorgeous cut files that would work great for this technique!
Hello!! I am sharing a layout featuring A Case of the Blahs by Pinkfresh Studio. Everything I used can be found in the April 2018 Hip Kits!! My assignment for this layout was fussy cutting and layering. I fussy cut the scallops from the Pinkfresh Studio “Flawsome” paper and layered them up with some white scallops and loads of messy stitching with black thread. I added black paint to the background so the scallops would pop! I found it so easy to embellish with the super fun sayings, frames, and ephemera!
I absolutely love all the green and natural elements in Crate Paper’s Wild Heart collection! For this layout I used the ephemera leaves, vellum leaves and I also stamped and fussy cut a leaf using the Wild Heart stamp set. I cut some white leaves on my sihouetteand then hand painted a few leaves for good measure!!
I mixed the ephemera with one of the gorgeous Standout ribbons around my photo!
The “Paradise” paper with all the leaves is one of my favorites! I layered it with the “Daze” paper on the edge of my layout.
This layout for Pinkfresh Studio was inspired by my One Little Word for the year which is “Nurture” the thoughtful sentiments on the Let Your Heart Decide Cardstock Sticker sheet worked perfectly for the ideas behind my word! I chose the stunning Instinct patterned paper for my background. I do love a lot of white on my layouts so I cut 3D flowers from white cardstock and placed them on the paper using the leaves on the paper to incorporate the flowers!
The cardstock sticker circles fit perfectly in the centers of the flowers. I moved them around until they made me happy and then used dimensional adhesive to give them some lift.
I tucked in one of the stitched frames behind my photo and lifted the absolutely adorable little terrarium up above the photo. Hearts from the epoxy stickers and ephemera pack were the perfect addition to my photo!
