Hang In There – Paige Evans + Silhouette

I was perusing Paige’s cut file shop at the Silhouette store and spotted the Hang In There Hanger (Design ID #255610) I thought it would be super cute on a layout with bits and pieces hanging from it.

I cut the file from white cardstock and then in the Silhouette software I used the offset feature and then deleted the original cut file so I would have a second layer with a large border.  I painted the cut file with 2 coats of Martha Stewart gold paint and after it dried I glued it onto the border layer.  I cut 5 of the Dipped Leaves (Design ID #227130) and painted the tips gold as well.

On my background I spattered some Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine and then selected some cute pieces from Pick Me Up by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee.  I added a gold eyelet to my photo and to one of the tags and then attached the bits to the hanger with white crochet thread.

Beautiful Self

I started out by cutting Simple Flower Background (Design ID #228026) from 8.5×11 white card stock.  Once I peeled off the background I realized I would have all these gorgeous little flowers left over!  Out came the pop dots!!  I chose to back the card stock with Paper 18 from the 12×12 Paper Pad. The gold foil glimmers on the pretty blue were too hard to resist!  I stitched (crookedly) in a diamond pattern in between the flowers and then popped up the white flowers over the open space.  To add a bit more color I cut down the white sheet and added it onto Paper 21, I love how the colorful and gold bits stick out around the edge of the layout.

To embellish my photo I used the gold journal card from the Journaling Spots Pak, a floral die cut, sweet little flower puffy stickers and a word sticker.  The Be Your Beautiful Self Chipboard Tag from the Chipboard sheet became my title, I added a little Hello Puffy banner for a finishing touch!  I kept the photo cluster pretty simple to reflect the simple pretty background!

The dimension created by using 4,675 pop dots (kidding) is so pretty.  The watermelon background peeks out just enough to add sparkle and color!

Watch Over Me

Paige will ask us if there is anything we would like to see made into a cut file.  I put wings on the list!  I have been wanting to make a page with this idea for a while and Pick Me Up is the perfect collection to make use of the pretty Angel Wings (Design ID #237178) Paige designed!

I started out by typing out my journalling and then adding white paint to Paper 20. My typed journalling adds a soft layer! I decided to fussy cut my photo and by a happy accident it turned out to be a pale pink that matched Pick Me Up perfectly! I add the wings to the back of my photo and then adhered my “paper doll” Grandma to a painted tag. I cut flower shapes from Paper 16, Paper 23 white card stock and tracing paper. I layered those together and added bits from the Haberdashery Pak to the middles of the flowers and also scattered the pretty pink sequins around the page. Two cute little buttons from the Rub-On set finished off the tag!

I have been so excited to get the Pick Me Up Alphabet Stamp Set and I stamped out my title onto white card stock and added it under the tag. I used a sweet die cut from the Ephemera Die Cut Pak to pretty up my title!

I say this most every time, but I love how my page turned out.  My Grandma means everything to me and making this page about her, let me feel like we together for awhile!

Dream Wild

If you are going to dream you might as well dream big and dream wild! The rich gorgeous colors on the Dream Wild tag from Paper 13 in Pick-Me-Up completely inspired my layout! I have wanted to use the Dreamcatcher cut file for awhile and when I saw the Dream Wild tag I knew it was perfect!

I cut the Dreamcatcher cut file from white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 3. I added some turquoise paint to a white background and splattered a bit of Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine around. While that was drying I started to back the cut file with gorgeous papers from Pick-Me-Up. I also fussy cut pretty flowers from Paper 02 to use as embellishments.

I decided to leave the main part of the dreamcatcher open so that the paint would show through and I wanted to let the florals and tag stand out! To make little “beads” for the the dreamcatcher I simply punched into the same papers I used with my regular single hole punch and then glued them on. They add just the right amount of color around the dreamcatcher circle. I used Paper 10 to back the feathers – the small patterns show perfectly through the openings! I also traced around some of the feathers onto Paper 02 and Paper 16 to make extra patterned paper feathers.

I love how this layout turned out and the challenge to only use cardstock and patterned papers from Pick-Me-Up!

All the LOL’s

A few days before I left for Creativation in Phoenix I received the papers from Pick Me Up by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee!  At that time, Paige only had the papers from the collection.  I was up for the challenge of seeing if I could make a layout using only papers.  In my short scrapbooking history I have never actually made a layout from only paper.  It’s a good thing Paige’s collections always have so many fussy cutting papers and cut apart sheets!!

To get started I chose the Spooky Stars (Design ID #216771) cut file from Paige’s Silhouette store.  I wanted a whimsical background for what I had in mind!  I had recently boughten Hannah 3 different sizes of pom pom makers and thought it would be fun to turn three of them into embellishments.  I trimmed them done and gave them a pretty severe haircut at the back so they would lay flat and then glued them onto paperclips.  I fussy cut quite a few pieces from Pick Me Up Paper 8 and used the cut pieces as embellishments.  The bold stripes of Paper 19 worked perfectly under the stars for pops of color.  I added silly selfies of my Mom and I, then called it done!

I Love the fun and dimension the pom poms add!

Brightside

I’m so excited to share my very first layout with Pick Me Up by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee!  The colours are so rich and plentiful!  I started by cutting the Butterfly (Design ID #223755) by Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette from white card stock and then going to town backing it with papers!  I decided to go with the rich blues on top and plums and pinks on the bottom.    I added some mixed media to my white background and added foam to the back of the butterfly to add dimension!  I wanted just a few embellishments and used the strip going down the edge of the page and the happy tab from Paper 01.  The butterflies and moths are fussy cut from Paper 14.  Love this collection!!
