Super Star

I was very scrappy this past week and have a layout using the Super Star Cut File from Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette!

I paired it with Turn the Page by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee. Turn the Page has spectacular stars in the collection with gold foiling on them, a star stamp, star washi tape and chipboard stars! The possibilities are endless with so much to choose from! I backed the top half of the cut file with blues and greens and switched to pinks for the bottom half. I layered in all kinds of stars and finished off the star cluster with pieces from the journal pack!

My daughter won an award for her ballet solo last spring and she is always a super star to me!

Details!

Hey Girl

Last year when I joined Big Picture Classes, I felt like I had walked into the Candy Store of scrapbooking!  The first page I tackled was from Paige’s Pages 11.  I was beyond thrilled that I could make something so cute from a simple little punch and a few embellishments!  I learned quickly that for me, I needed to try and stick to what the talented instructors are trying to teach me and then after practicing the lesson I could then add my own spin.  It was a central part of what had been missing for me as I tried to make 12×12 scrapbook pages,  I had not been patient enough to learn techniques and actually try them as they were.  I have learned so much more than techniques and ideas by slowing down and being willing to be a student.  I have learned more about what I like, what gives me joy in the process and what I am willing to hang up on my walls!

Books and More Books

Books are a serious thing at our house!  I have always been a reader and Hannah is a voracious reader!  She learned to read early and has never stopped!  Very early on, I gave up buying books and instead we make great use of libraries!  I think being a home school kid, she has always had more time to read which is a great thing!  When I first got Oh My Heart I knew one day I would go crazy with the books and book paper.  I fussy cut like a mad woman this week, cutting all the books and also the 6×6 sheet of flowers.  I tinkered around with a few different layouts with the books and then settled on a pennant arrangement.  It seemed to show them off the best without overtaking the whole page!  I chose one of my many library photos for the layout!  I have the digital version of Oh My Heart as well so I used one of the open books from the paper and typed on it in Photoshop for a little journal spot!  I had a few of the Books and More Books cards from the multiple paks of Die Cuts I have gone through, so I thought using both of them added to the visual story of how much she reads!  Thank you Paige Evans for making such a wonderful Oh My Heart collection!!

Fantastic

I thought I would punch some circles from the 6×6 Turn the Page Paper pads and then see what happens!  I fiddled around with the circles cut in half for quite awhile and then settled on a similar design as my Love You Lots layout.  I don’t mind repeating a design that I love, it turns out differently anyway!  This time I filled in half circles all the way to the center and then stacked my photo and embellishments on top!  I used the gorgeous yellow fantastic title and carpe diem chipboard arrow from Take Me Away by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee.  The rest of the pretty flowers and banner clip are from Turn the Page.  I adore how it turned out.  So colorful and fun!

Start Here

I decided to go big with my photo on this layout.  My wide format printer is being persnickety these days so I printed it on 8.5×11 photo paper.  It leaves a nice border around the edge of the 12×12 page so it’s all good!  I used some random labels for my journaling and fussy cut the start here arrow from one of the Turn the Page 6×4 cards.  I played around with all sorts of embellishments and then tried a chipboard arrow and loved it.  So I found all the arrows in the collection and tucked them around the journal labels.

For some extra layers I stamped the flower and leaves from the Turn the Page Stamp Set onto white cardstock and fussy cut them.  They bring the perfect amount of black onto the left side to balance the black in the photo!  I love how the page turned out!  Turn the Page by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee has so many different options, I see something new everytime I work with it!

Brave Wings

Recently we colored my daughter’s hair with temporary bright color!  She had been wanting to do it for a long time and the only thing in the way was me!  Of course if it was going to happen then there needed to be loads of pictures, this photo was my favorite and the Take Me Away collection by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee was such a perfect match to show it off!  The brave wings pocket card said it all for me and that was my jumping off point for the layout.  I punched butterflies from the 12×12 papers and spread them out in an ombre effect from the bottom.  A few gold accents and Take Me Away paper clip finished it off!

Turn the Page Guest

Today is the day!!  I am thrilled to share my pages using Paige Evan’s new collection Turn the Page!  Paige and Pink Paislee have done it again with an outstanding collection of beautiful scrapbook products!

The very first page I made was “That’s What She Said”  I stitched pink heart sequins around my circle made from floral paper, the sparkle they add is just right!  I fussy cut the quotes from Paper 21 to use as the inspiration for the whole layout.  The title is a nod to The Office, one of my favorite shows!

The next layout I made is called “Fresh Start”  I let the quote determine the color story for this page, with the fresh green and blue!  I added Shimmerz Well Blue Me Down & Rolling In The Hay to the background.  I layered leaves cut from white cardstock, and cut from the deep green paper from Turn the Page.  I went through the embellishments and puffy stickers to find the ones with greens and blues!  I fussy cut the swallow and butterflies from the 12×12 papers.  To finish it off I added the sweet little tab from the sticker book!

For my 3rd layout I was ready to dig into the papers!!  There are 24 papers in Turn the Page with their coordinating b-sides which gives you 48 patterns to play with!!  I chose the big beautiful floral and then coordinated the other papers based from it.  I cut simple long banners and roughed up the edges a bit for a shabby look.  I added some of the pretty ribbon as banners as well.  I used a gorgeous big quote embellishment and more butterflies fussy cut from Paper 04.

For my last layout I used the Follow Your Heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe as my jumping off point.  It is such a great way to use many papers by backing the open spots of a cut file!  I mixed and matched papers trying to have different colors and patterns next to each other!  There was a lot of cutting and fitting but I adore the result!  I used a quote fussy cut from Paper 21 (can you tell I love the quotes?) and made a cluster on the lower right and then a mini cluster on the top left for balance.  The sweet little banner is from the sticker sheet and the flowers are fussy cut from Paper 15.

Last but not least I made a mini album!  My daughter had gone to a sleepover and my husband was busy doing tractor type things so I had plenty of time to scrap!  I cut down the cover from an old novel (bought at a library sale) and readied it to hold my little booklets.  I made 3 signatures with about 5-6 pages in each signature.  I did all my sewing and sticking and decorating before I added the signatures to the cover, it makes it much easier!  I kept the pages fairly simple but cute!  I added a repeating theme with little typed sentiment strips!  I love how it turned out!  Every time I turn a page I will remember this exciting opportunity I had!!

The cover for this next signature was inspired by Steffi Ried’s cool stitching!!

All My Stars

On Tuesday (Aug 1) I sent in all my Turn the Page projects for my guest spot @ Pink Paislee!  It’s a bit nerve wracking hoping everything is just right and guest spot worthy 🙂  I can’t wait to share them next week!!  So this layout is my first “play” with Turn the Page!  The 12×12 and 6×6 paper pad has gold foil running throughout many of the pages!  It gives a special feel to the paper and that gorgeous touch of glimmer!  I had my eye on the stars while I was making my guest pages and when I saw the gold on them in the paper pad, I knew I wanted to use those next!  I fussy cut the big stars from the 12×12 paper and the matching little stars from the 6×6 paper.  I punched stars from the hexagon paper to layer in between the stars and stitched the little star piles together.

To make the background I cut a 9″ circle from white paper on my silhouette and used it as a mask to keep the center of the circle on my background clean while I splattered Shimmerz Night Moves and Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine around the circle.  I drew messy lines with the sprayer end around the circle as well!  I then attached the stars in a rainbow order and added the gorgeous little stars from the Turn the Page Chipboard.  To me that addition of the chipboard stars made the page!  My title is from the Take Me Away Thickers and a little typed quote finished it off!

Turn the Page by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee is a must have collection!  The colors are gorgeous and the possibilities are endless!

New Level of Happy Mail

Weeks ago I received an email inviting me to be a Guest Designer for Paige Evans & Pink Paislee!!  #mindblown really suits the surprise and giddiness I felt!  Of course I said yes!  Fast forward to me annoying the lady that receives courier shipments for me in town.. is it there yet?  now?  today?  Thank goodness she is super nice and didn’t mind!  Finally she called me that the box had arrived so Hannah and I went off to town to get it.

The “Turn the Page” Collection is amazing!!  Truthfully I had to sit and look at it for a day before I could go near it with a pair of scissors 🙂  The possibilities were filling up my head and I didn’t want to use #all the things on the first page!

Once I started scrapping the pages almost made themselves!  I am excited to share them soon and honored to have been asked to be a guest designer!  A big Thank You to Paige Taylor Evans for the opportunity!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Layout

This layout came about from the Hip Kit Club Moodboard Challenge on the FB Forum.  I was inspired by the balloon picture on the moodboard and the colors from Oh My Heart by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee are perfect!!  At the party we had a strawberry shortcake birthday banner hanging on the wall and I thought it would be cute to add to the layout.  I made the banner in photoshop and then traced it in silhouette to cut out!  The photo is one of my favorites, not a typical birthday fun photo, she was waiting for cake and tired out by this point.  I just love it!  The today is awesome, xo gold heart and mint bow chipboard are from the Take Me Away Collection and I added a few flowers from my stash!

Hannah “willingly” gave me the 3 from her My Mind’s Eye On Trend Ephemera pak.

I colorized the photo in photoshop beofre printing, the background was super busy and I wanted just the birthday girl to be the focal point!
