Today is the last day of “Halloween Week”. I hope you have enjoyed the layouts! I sure had fun making and sharing them!
For this layout I cut a bunch of of the Pumpkin Trio Design ID #222474 cut files. I used a mix of Oh My Heart by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee and the Crate Paper After Dark Digital Collection. I thought it would be fun to make a spooky clothesline with lots of banners and tags, socks are halloweenish right? I added some glue spots and sprinkled rose gold glitter for the top of the background and added some green/yellow paint as well!
My third layout is titled Boo Crew. For the base of the design I used Squares Background Design ID #216774 I cut the design down to only have 3 columns. Since I chose very bright and contrasting colors from Oh My Heart by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee the grid helps everything feel less chaotic! I added one of the Haunted Houses Design ID #217953 for a cute focal point. It was a challenge to use a collection that wasn’t really meant for Halloween, once I got going it was interesting to find so many things that seemed perfect!
Every year for the last 4 years we go to our friends house for pizza and trick or treating. They live out in a country subdivision and everyone knows everyone there so the kids can just run around and have a great time! Love our Boo Crew!
I am very thrilled to be featured on the Scrapbook Expo blog today! As part of the feature you get the opportunity to create an exclusive layout! I found a favorite autumn photo and used Oh My Heart by Paige Taylor Evans & Pink Paislee to make a pretty autumn page! I cut leaves with a cut file from the Silhouette store and then punched little flowers with a Martha Stewart punch to use as sprinkles all around the layout! I designed the title in photoshop and cut it with the silhouette. I would LOVE for you to check out the post at Scrapbook Expo and see the layouts I chose as my favorites!!
Books are a serious thing at our house! I have always been a reader and Hannah is a voracious reader! She learned to read early and has never stopped! Very early on, I gave up buying books and instead we make great use of libraries! I think being a home school kid, she has always had more time to read which is a great thing! When I first got Oh My Heart I knew one day I would go crazy with the books and book paper. I fussy cut like a mad woman this week, cutting all the books and also the 6×6 sheet of flowers. I tinkered around with a few different layouts with the books and then settled on a pennant arrangement. It seemed to show them off the best without overtaking the whole page! I chose one of my many library photos for the layout! I have the digital version of Oh My Heart as well so I used one of the open books from the paper and typed on it in Photoshop for a little journal spot! I had a few of the Books and More Books cards from the multiple paks of Die Cuts I have gone through, so I thought using both of them added to the visual story of how much she reads! Thank you Paige Evans for making such a wonderful Oh My Heart collection!!
This layout came about from the Hip Kit Club Moodboard Challenge on the FB Forum. I was inspired by the balloon picture on the moodboard and the colors from Oh My Heart by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee are perfect!! At the party we had a strawberry shortcake birthday banner hanging on the wall and I thought it would be cute to add to the layout. I made the banner in photoshop and then traced it in silhouette to cut out! The photo is one of my favorites, not a typical birthday fun photo, she was waiting for cake and tired out by this point. I just love it! The today is awesome, xo gold heart and mint bow chipboard are from the Take Me Away Collection and I added a few flowers from my stash!
Hannah “willingly” gave me the 3 from her My Mind’s Eye On Trend Ephemera pak.
I colorized the photo in photoshop beofre printing, the background was super busy and I wanted just the birthday girl to be the focal point!
I made this layout earlier in the week, the week went by so fast I thought I better get it posted!! I used some Sizzix dies and cut 6×6 Oh My Heart by Paige Evans/Pink Paislee papers into flowers and leaves. After building the flowers I added a bit of watercolor paint to them for shading. I used the leftover cutout words from my Love Your Laugh layout and stitched around them in two shades of blue thread. I cut the r off of the your and it worked out fine! I used my sewing machine to stitch stems for the flowers and popped a favorite photo into the flower bunch! I also used a fab cut file from The Cut Shoppe underneath 3 of the flowers for added dimension and texture. I scattered the left over holes from the flower cuts and punched some more circles with a hole punch. Added a pretty polka dot bow and done!
I made some cut files for my new silhouette cameo and backed them with pretty papers from Oh My Heart by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee. I used various Shimmerz for the background and then fussy cut the key set from Paper 07. Then I got the bright idea that I needed a fancy key chain and I knew I had a teeny bag of these teeny tassels but I couldn’t find them anywhere! Finally after 30 min of looking I found them!! Are you like that? You know something is in your stash and you have to hunt til you find it? I used some jump rings, beads, the teeny tassel and one of the resin hearts from Oh My Heart! Love it!
We spend so much time on the road during the school year, going to piano lessons and dance. Living out in the country is great but it means we put on many miles!!
Details of the key chain!
I finished up another layout with hand stitching! I mucked around with this layout for awhile. I collect vintage old stitched doilies and table runners etc and my Mom brought me a stash of things she found while she was visiting recently! This bluebird one caught my eye right away and made me think of the cute bird from Oh My Heart. I first thought about using the stitched piece on a layout and painted the bird a bit to have the same blue. I didn’t like the cream background to the fabric, so I scanned the piece and then printed it out in black and white and layed it over a 12×12 and poked holes. I then stitched on the layout and went from there. I decided to use Prima Tropicals watercolors to give the bluebird more prominence! It turned out so sweet! I love it!
A photo showing the vintage piece.
Close up of the painting and pretty french knots!!
