XO – Pinkfresh Studio

I was so super excited to find the Simple and Sweet collection by Pinkfresh Studio in the mail!!  I knew it would be gorgeous from the previews but to see it in person was awesome!

One of the things that I love about Pinkfresh designs are the background papers.  As you probably can tell I am a big fan of white backgrounds and to use pattern paper as a background is a challenge for me!  I love that some of the Pinkfresh papers come “ready” to use as designer backgrounds.  As soon as I saw the Splendid paper I knew I wanted to use it right away!

I measured the circles I wanted to add photos too and in photoshop created some circle shapes on a 4×6 canvas.  I added a white border around the circle and a small grey stroke as a cutting line.  I am seriously challenged at cutting circles and they still ended up wonky but it didn’t bother me one bit!  I love the circle photos that fit right into the paper!

I added some gorgeous chipboard and die cut circles to a few of the spots and couldn’t resist adding some beautiful gold puffy stickers to finish off the layout!

I am pretty sure Simple & Sweet will be a big favorite of mine!

Good Life – Paige Evans + Silhouette

Lately I have had Oh My Heart on my mind!  It is still one of my favourite collections by Paige and Pink Paislee!  I got out my stash and set to work backing the Geometric Background (246550) with all the pretty patterned papers in Oh My Heart.  The Geometric background is really lovely to back, it is all straight lines and it makes a big impact when finished!

Once I started on the cluster of flowers around my photo, I realized that the flowers and cards were blending in with the background too much, I added a simple piece of vellum to the background to soften the brightness.  I had been playing around with some Vicki Boutin Gold Glaze through Paige’s Flower Bunch (259829) cut file and had the gold covered cut file left over so I added it in between the background and photo cluster.
I love how bright and cheerful the layout is, the florals in Oh My Heart make me happy every time!

Adventure – Hip Kit Club

Today I have a layout that features 5 of my favorite products from the May 2018 Hip Kits! I chose the Crate Paper Wild Heart Glitter Phrase stickers, Heidi Swapp paper, Vicki Boutin Paint, Simple Stories Good Vibes chipboard and the Echo Park Enamel Dots!

I painted on my background with a large brush and then I decided to “string” the glitter leaves like they were feathers along with the Simple Stories chipboard feathers. I added a die cut title and some die cut leaves. All the products I used came from the May 2018 Main and Embellishment Kit!

It was fun to choose 5 items and make a page, I recommend giving it a try if you are looking for some inspiration!

Like A Rainbow – Hip Kit Club

Today I am sharing a layout I made using the May 2018 Hip Kits! My assignment was to use the gorgeous June Moodboard by Irit and the Pick Me Up alphabet stamps! I was drawn by the rainbows in the moodboard and used the Vicki Boutin paints in the May 2018 Color Kit to make my rainbow! I painted it on white cardstock and added messy black stitching and then popped it up on a white background with black splatters.

The super cute chipboard from Simple Stories and a rosette from Crate Paper finished it off! Be sure to check out the June Moodboard and get your stamps out!

June Challenge – Pinkfresh Studio

Each month Pinkfresh Studio hosts a challenge!  For the month of June the challenge is all about “Bows” which I love!  The challenge is combined with a color story and there are prizes for both scrapbooking and cardmaking!  Be sure to check out the June Pinkfresh Studio Challenge and play along!

My challenge page started out with bows of course!  I used the Caper, Whim and Quirk papers from the Let Your Heart Decide collection and cut bows on my silhouette.  I added paint swashes and a ruffled crepe paper strip to my background and then adhered my bow.

Since the bows were the star of the page I kept it pretty simple with the embellishments.  I added two flowers from the Let Your Heart Decide Ephemera pakand a tag and tab from The Mix #02 as well as a Tassel Bow from The Mix #02.

Playing along with challenges are a great way to start a layout!  Share you layout by June 29th on the Pinkfresh Studio blog and if you share on Instagram please add the hashtags #pinkfreshstudio & #pinkfreshchallenge.

Perfect Pair – Paige Evans + Silhouette

Scalloped Border Background
Design ID #229288
You can never underestimate the potential of a seemingly simple scallop cut file!  Say that 5 times fast 🙂 I love Paige’s Scallop border cut file, I decided to make it the star of the show paired with Pick Me Up by Paige Taylor Evans and Pink Paislee.  I chose to pop them off of the pretty blues in Paper 14.
I added matching paint to the background in big bold strokes and added splatters of the same paint as well as gold sprinkles.  I stitched the scallops onto the blue paper strips for extra texture and then layered them over the painted background at random lengths and on a bit of an angle.
The strips created the perfect spots to tuck in tags and flowers.  I fussy cut flowers from Paper 02 for layers and dimension.    The perfect pair 3×4 card actually has a pair of sneakers on it, but I covered that with flowers to suit my layout better!
I thought it would be fun to point out that I only used 4 pieces of patterned paper, some paint and a white piece of card stock.  If you happen to be on a budget this collection really is versatile and you can create pretty pages from minimal supplies and of course Paige’s cut files can be used over and over!!

Vacation Memories – Crate Paper

Today I am sharing a layout featuring Vacation Memories with the Wild Heart Collection! I must admit up front that I have never been anywhere tropical but that doesn’t stop me from loving the tropical vibe of Wild Heart! For this layout my journaling and memory is focused on what paradise means to me! I started out with the striped background and cut papers in strips to look like trees! I stitched the strips onto the paper with messy stitches and then added a cut file from white card stock on top.

Last year we spent 10 days on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The Island to me is paradise. The old growth rainforest was breathtaking and boasted Lucious huge green leaves!! I knew the minute I saw Wild Heart is would be perfect for those memories. I typed up my journaling and folded it up, I tucked it on top of of one of the ephemera cards and attached it to the layout with a leaf epoxy clip!

The chipboard paradise letters are my favourite!! I love that they are pink with a spotty animal print! I stitched them onto my layout for more subtle texture. I snipped the #happy from the cut apart card sheet into a little banner.

I knew I wanted to find a great spot for the pretty lush leaves! The leaves come in many forms in the collection, so I had a hard time picking between the paper ephemera ones, vellum and leaves on the sticker sheet. I ended up choosing the variegated green paper leaf since I had used so many of the green papers and I had more greens in my photos! The vellum leaf was the perfect companion! For one last detail I topped off the photo area with the gold foil butterfly print on the green card. It is just so pretty and draws the eye to the photo since I have a very busy background!

Wild Heart is a great collection for vacation memories, you can join me and scrap about your idea of paradise!

Real Life – Pinkfresh Studio

Hello! I am sharing two layouts I made using the fabulous A Case of the Blahs collection by Pinkfresh Studio! I have to tell you that I was excited to dive into this collection.  I love the sentiments about real life and the the sometimes not so great side of life.  The colors are gorgeous and everything flows together so beautifully!
For my first page I wanted to build around the real life word art in the Die Cut pak.  I noticed that the stamp set had the same words in a smaller version, so I used the stamp to create a messy stamped around my photo on the background.  I did some light stencilling and black paint splatters as well.

The pajamas all day label was a must have for me.  My daughter and I “might” spend a lot of our day to day lives in pajamas!  I layered a frame, die cuts and sweet little enamel dots around my photo and in a vertical line above and below my photo.

I had cut a 3″ strip of the Oops paper to layer down the vertical line but it covered too much of the background so I fussy cut the houses and used them as embellishments!  I popped a few up on foam dots for dimensional interest!  I love how the page turned out!

My second page was inspired by the “feeling all the feelings” die cut banner.  I knew the story I wanted to tell using a photo as soon as I saw the banner.  I chose the Oops, Flawsome and Awkward paper and stacked them for my background.  I cut the middles out of the two bottom papers then punched hearts from the Oops paper, layered and stiched them down the middle.

Next came layering around my photo.  I added some of the fresh color in the Blah paper for a pop of color and co-ordinating chipboard and die cuts.

I fiddled around with a spot for my title for awhile and finally decided to add it at the top of the page.  I LOVE this alpha, the font choice in the black color is perfect!!  To break up my title I added the “girls” in the cute alpha from the sticker sheet.

A few final details with enamel dots and the cutest little heart stamp finished off my page!
I hope you enjoyed my “real life” pages! They were a joy to make!

Happy Life – Paige Taylor Evans + Silhouette

I found the super cool String Art Heart Design ID #258560 in Paige’s Silhouette store.  I cut the heart from 12×12 white cardstock and used it as a template to punch holes in a heavier weight cardstock below it.  After I had the holes made I used 4 different colors of embroidery floss to make the string art design!  I quickly gave up trying to follow all the lines in the cut file and just made my own crissing and crossing the heart.  It was super helpful to use the cut file to place the holes!

It took me about an hour to string the whole heart.  Once I was done I added some paint splatters to the two areas I knew I would embellish.  While the paint was drying I put together my photo cluster.  I ended up adding foam to a few of the layers for lot’s of dimension.  Before I adhered my photo cluster I added a few rubons to peek out beneath it.

I added a cute little cluster at the top left of the heart for balance and interest!  I love the teeny little rubons included with Pick Me Up by Paige Taylor Evans and Pink Paislee in that spot too!

Your Mom – Hip Kit Club

My assignment this week was to incorporate colored cardstock into my layout.  Not going to lie, I rarely use colored cardstock, not because I don’t like it,  I think it is because there are so many “pretty” bits in our kits that I really just overlook it.  So this week I got out all the pretty colored cardstock from the April 2018 Cardstock Kit and put my thinking cap on!
I had all the papers lined up on my desk in rainbow order and then I found the co-ordinating patterned papers from the April 2018 Kits and decided to grab my punches and make a heart out of punched pieces.

I cut a heart to use as a template on my silhouette and then fit all my punched papers into the heart like a puzzle, once I had them positioned I glued each of the pieces down.  As I started looking for embellishments I realized there were so many cute little items that would work on the heart.  I used almost all of the Shimelle Enamel Dots found in the April 2018 Project Life Kit and a lot of the dots from the Hip Kit Club exclusive puffy stickers!

I finished off the page with a pretty title using the Hip Kit Club exclusive white puffy alpha, my photo and a floral cluster!
