Hello Crate Paper friends! Happy December! I am super excited to share my Snowflake project with you! I love the Crate Paper Snowflake collection as I am sure you do as well! Since I live in Alberta, Canada I have no shortage of winter photos to document and I decided to make a folio/minibook to document some December days!
I started the folio by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 8.5×10.5 I then made a mark in the middle of the long side and scored 1/4” on each side of the middle for a 1/2” gutter. Next up I selected 7 cards from the Snowflake Card set and trimmed them to 5” wide, I then trimmed off the back of the card leaving 3/4” for a “hinge” for my waterfall side of my folio. The cards were a great time saver to make a waterfall!
I attached all my cards by the hinge to the right side of my folio. I decorated the inside of the hinge with patterned paper and also added a piece of patterned paper to the inside of each flap.
Next I added photos to the waterfall cards. I decorated the photos with embellishments from the Snowflake die cuts, puffy stickers, stickerbook and cardstock sticker sheet. I was able to add a bit of dimension and still have the waterfall lay nicely when all the flaps are down.
On the left side of my folio, I created a pocket page that flips open. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 8”x1 1/2” and scored it down the middle. I adhered that hinge to the back of the pocket page and to the left edge of the right side of the folio.
I then covered the back of the pocket page with patterned paper and adhered a full size photo onto the folio. This hid my hinge. I created a pocket on the inside flap using my photo and tucked in a tag for journaling. I decorated the large photo with the Chill Thickers. I love the coppery gold finish and all the sweet phrases!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I’d love for you to make your own folio mini book, it is quite simple to make and it’s fun to flip through!
