Hello and Happy New Year! Lorilei here today, and I am beyond thrilled to be creating with Crate Paper for another year and I look forward to all the amazing Crate Paper collections to come! Today I am sharing a layout using La La Love! I wanted to make a layout with a creative spin. I have always loved the quote I used on the page and thought it would be fun to make winged hearts!
To start my page I added swipes of thin pink paint (Vicki Boutin) with a palette knife. Once the pink paint had dried I added Colorshine splatters in Sweet Cherry and then I used a heart stencil and Heidi Swapp Gold Texture Paint by scraping it through with a palette knife. To finish off I added Gold Colorshine sprinkles! Most of the paint will be covered up by the end but I love how it peeks through the middle and edges!
I chose hearts from the chipboard and Thickers sheet and added white card stock butterflies to the back of the hearts with a bit of bunched up white thread beneath the butterflies for texture. When I am making a layout using a lot of white I love to add texture where I can!
I positioned my photo in the lower 3rd of the layout, keeping enough room for my journal strips and title. I used the Heart letter from the My Sweet Thickers for my title. I adhered my journal strips and added a smaller butterfly in the space beside the thickers to finish off the “title block”.
For some finishing touches I added in some stitched hearts I had made (for more texture) the sweet little love word from the Thickers, some word phrase stickers and the pink I love you chipboard to the side of the photo. I cut 1/4” off each side of my background paper and adhered it to the Heart You paper for a nice border!
Making a creative layout doesn’t have to be complicated, it can be fun and whimsical and help you tell a story or share a feeling! Thanks so much for joining me today, see you again soon!
