Halloween 6×12 Pocket Page – Elle’s Studio

I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for October at Elle’s Studio!  I love to use Elle’s Studio for my 6×12 Project Life albums!

For my first project I decided to do a spread in my 2017 album, I gathered all the Halloween items from the October Kit and got to work!  I had tons of photos, so I ended up with two 6×12 pocket pages and a 6×8 insert!  The Elle’s Studio October Kit is packed with Halloween goodies so putting together the spread was easy!

I started with my usual process and printed the photos first.  When I started doing PL, I quickly had to come up with a process that worked for me so that it wouldn’t become overwhelming.  After my photos were printed, I laid out the cards I wanted to use.  Next, I did all my journaling in photoshop and popped my cards into my printer.  Sometimes I hand write on the cards, but I find printing my journaling quicker, and I end up with less spelling errors, etc.

Once I had all the cards in place, I got to the fun part!  Decorating the cards and photos!  I started with the Trick or Treat wood veneer in a 3×4 pocket and also attached the Oct 31 wood veneer to my top photo, I love how it fits perfectly in that spot!  To create balance, I made sure to distribute the wood veneer banners around the spread.

The last few years as part of my process I limit my color choices to 2 or 3 colors.  It helps me to make a spread quickly and gives me a nice cohesive look in my pockets.  I used mostly teal, black and pops of orange on these pockets and I love how it turned out!
