Crush on You

The Hip Kit Club has a pretty cool ice cream cone cut file for July!  I supersized the cut file and cut it from white smooth carstock on my silhouette.  I backed the cone with the fabulous paper made by Design Team member Irit Landgraf.  I knew I wanted to use photos of Hannah having her very first ice cream cone while we were on vacation in Prince Edward Island at Anne of Green Gables!  She was completely smitten with her ice cream cone!  I also used the floral cut files provided by Zinia Amoirdou for Hip Kit Club.  I added watercolors to the plain white in all the ice cream colors!  While I was painting the flowers I spattered the left over paint onto the background paper.  I then added bits from the HKC wood pieces and a couple Amy Tangerine clear stickers (the big dots on the background).  For my title I used the chipboard Love & xoxo from Simple Stories I had in my stash, and a clip from Maggie Holmes Carousel.

All My Stars

On Tuesday (Aug 1) I sent in all my Turn the Page projects for my guest spot @ Pink Paislee!  It’s a bit nerve wracking hoping everything is just right and guest spot worthy 🙂  I can’t wait to share them next week!!  So this layout is my first “play” with Turn the Page!  The 12×12 and 6×6 paper pad has gold foil running throughout many of the pages!  It gives a special feel to the paper and that gorgeous touch of glimmer!  I had my eye on the stars while I was making my guest pages and when I saw the gold on them in the paper pad, I knew I wanted to use those next!  I fussy cut the big stars from the 12×12 paper and the matching little stars from the 6×6 paper.  I punched stars from the hexagon paper to layer in between the stars and stitched the little star piles together.

To make the background I cut a 9″ circle from white paper on my silhouette and used it as a mask to keep the center of the circle on my background clean while I splattered Shimmerz Night Moves and Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine around the circle.  I drew messy lines with the sprayer end around the circle as well!  I then attached the stars in a rainbow order and added the gorgeous little stars from the Turn the Page Chipboard.  To me that addition of the chipboard stars made the page!  My title is from the Take Me Away Thickers and a little typed quote finished it off!

Turn the Page by Paige Evans & Pink Paislee is a must have collection!  The colors are gorgeous and the possibilities are endless!

Stand Tall Darling

Flamingo’s are everywhere these days in scrap products!  I thought it would be fun to try a layout featuring one!  I made a cut file of a flamingo and the large title in photoshop to cut on my silhouette, then painted all the cutouts using my Prima Tropical Confections and my cheapy watercolor palette.  On the background I used some clear gesso and then scraped Martha Stewart paint and added some Shimmerz Well Blue Me Down splatters!  To embellish I fussy cut flowers from a Dear Lizzy paper I got in the July Hip Kit!  They were the perfect addition.  I finished the title with Thickers called Charming.

So fun to make this page!  Love how it turned out!

New Level of Happy Mail

Weeks ago I received an email inviting me to be a Guest Designer for Paige Evans & Pink Paislee!!  #mindblown really suits the surprise and giddiness I felt!  Of course I said yes!  Fast forward to me annoying the lady that receives courier shipments for me in town.. is it there yet?  now?  today?  Thank goodness she is super nice and didn’t mind!  Finally she called me that the box had arrived so Hannah and I went off to town to get it.

The “Turn the Page” Collection is amazing!!  Truthfully I had to sit and look at it for a day before I could go near it with a pair of scissors 🙂  The possibilities were filling up my head and I didn’t want to use #all the things on the first page!

Once I started scrapping the pages almost made themselves!  I am excited to share them soon and honored to have been asked to be a guest designer!  A big Thank You to Paige Taylor Evans for the opportunity!!
