Backyard Safari – Monkeys, Lions and Tigers Oh My!

Backyard Safari is super fun, whimsical and packed with digital scrapbooking elements and papers!  Studio Wendy suggested the idea for my Design A Kit contest and I thought the idea and colors were so cute I had to make it!

Backyard Safari is great to have in your digital stash for zoo photo’s, backyard fun, and everyday photos as Justine shows with her fabulous layout about bananas!

Studio Wendy made one of her great hybrid word book templates with the word Safari.  I of course had to make one and it turned out adorable and was quick and easy!  You can find the Safari Hybrid Template at Studio Wendy!

I also had the great pleasure of working with Studio Bethany, who created some super cute word art to go along with Backyard Safari, be sure to pick up a pack to go along with the kit!  You can find the Word Art at Studio Bethany.

As a special addition I made a set of web ware using Backyard Safari! The Web Ware includes graphics only and no codes.  So you make your own blogware or decorate your website.

Some gorgeous layouts from my Creative Team and some members of the Studio Crew!  Thank you for your scrapping genius!  You can see more layouts in the studio.

Ohh, safari/wild animal kits are some of my most favorite types of kits! It figures that you’d design a fabulous one when I am out of commission. :)
Wonderful colors, design and inspiration pages! Have a great summer, Lorilei.

Adorable, a definite must have. I am a sucker for anything cute related to wild animals. Even though a safari would rate very low on my personal vacation bucket list (do they have flush toilets in the wild?) there are always trips to the zoo, Six Flags and other people’s safari adventures to scrap.

  • Pat:

Backyard Safari is just toooooo cute!!!

  • may:

Soo cool! Love everything about this kit!

  • Pam:

Absolutely love this kit! My little boy wants to be an animal rescuer when he grows up so we just decorated his room in animals. Then we have all the trips to the zoos, the Cub Scout events with all the little monkeys there, and I have to be honest that sometimes I catch my little boys “lion” . So many possibilites. Now it’s time to make a big list of what I want to do with all these ideas. Cute little characters, beautiful colors, and so many great add-on’s. Thanks again.

  • Lorilei:

Thanks so much to you all for your comments! Pam your lion idea is adorable :) Kait can’t wait until your back to scrapping, I think I will have to bribe you to be on my CT! Kathleen I totally agree there are so many fun things to do with a wild animal kit. I love Justine’s banana layout!

I do love your word art! You make lettering come alive. Just had grandchildren visit from across the entire country and took the 3 year old on her first visit to a zoo that she might be old enough to remember. This whole set would make the perfect accent for those precious pictures. Thanks for your contribution!

  • Kathy Simkins:

I love this Safari Kit! With 8 grandchildren I have lots of photos of them with all forms of critters. And I have a son that spent 2 years in South Africa. When I saw the monkeys in this kit it reminded me of the monkeys that would take advantage of anyway to get into their apartment and walk off with anything that was not nailed down. He and his roomies resorted to using pellet guns to train the montkeys to stay out of their things.

  • Danielle:

Just adorable ! Especially love that little cute monkey. Great borders and clusters.

  • This is absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!! Wow! I love it!

  • Serina:

OMG how cuteeee! A little story for you .. I was born and raised in Kenya, East Africa, (moved to Canada back in 1993) and when I was younger, probably about 11 or 10, my dad took us on our first real camping trip down to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. After the car ride there we pitched our tent and everything was setup, dad made us some lunch over the campfire stove and then decided he would go take a little nap leaving me and my brother to just hang around real close to the tent with the Maasai guys he’d recruited to make sure the lions and wild animals didn’t come trash our camp area. He asked me to wash up the dishes so there I was in my own happy world, and out of nowhere a little monkey peeked out and decided he was hungry, so he started coming at me. You should have seen me, I took off running around the camp like a mad hatter with this monkey chasing me, my dad was just killing himself laughing and so were the Maasai guys but they did scare the monkey off as he just kept chasing and thought it was a real fun game lmao! Ahh childhood memories, some fabulous and some not so memorable, we have to cherish the good :) Just as a side FYI a Maasai is:

The Maasai (also called Masai) are a Nilotic ethnic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya and northern Tanzania.

Hope you get a bit of a chuckle, these lovely safari type kits always bring me so many good memories of back home. Thank you for the chance to win a copy of your fabulous kit. Have a great Canada Day from a fellow Canuck.

    Hugs to you .. Serina
